Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a certification program, which is governed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals. As per the federal law, to earn a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate, you have to undergo 75 hours of training and 100 hours of clinic rotation that lasts for 8 to 13 weeks to gain 75 accredited hours. You have to attend the nurse assistant classes for 2 to 8 months and score the passing marks in CNA examination. It is mandatory for you to get your name listed in the Nurse Aide Registry in Louisiana.

Your CNA certification has a date of expiry, which you need to renew in every two years. It is advised to renew your license before its expiry date otherwise you may be asked to take the CNA certification exam again.
