CNA Classes in Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health approves CNA classes in Massachusetts. In order to be eligible for a CNA certification in Massachusetts, a student is required to undergo 100 hours of training. Out of 100 hours, 75 hours should be dedicated to classroom coursework and for 25 hours, the candidate should work under supervised practical training (clinical practice).

During the classes, a student learns how to take care of the patient and how to assist him in different activities, like brushing teeth, bathing, toileting, eating, etc. The practical sessions of the program teaches how to take vital signs, observe, put the health changes in a documented form, make reports, address needs of the patient’s family, etc.

The admission fee charged for a class depends on the place where it is located. It may range from $800 to $2000. After one gains the CNA certification, his record gets added to the Massachusetts Nurse Aide Registry.
