How to Pass CNA Certification Test?
To work as a certified nursing assistant, it is essential to pass a CNA certification test. If you are going to appear for the nurse aide licensing exam, then this article will be very helpful for you. This article will provide you with some tips to qualify the certification exam.
CNA certification exam
The nursing assistant certification exam comprises of two sections- written and practical skills test. Both tests are conducted on the same day. For obtaining a license, it is essential to qualify in both the sections of the exam.
In written test, the questions are based on medical terminologies, patient care and basic medical conceptions. All the questions are in the format of multiple-choice. The number of questions in the exam depends on the state. In practical skills test, you have to demonstrate 4 to 5 clinical skills. The time duration of this test is 30 minutes.
Tips for passing CNA certification test
Following tips will certainly help you in qualifying the nurse aide certification test:
- Enroll in a good nurse training program. Sincerely attend the theoretical and practical portion of the CNA training program.
- Grab an in-depth theoretical and clinical knowledge, before appearing for the exam. Clarify all your doubts.
- Revise the nursing text books and manuals provided during the training program. You may also find study materials online.
- Practice sample papers as much as you can.
- Discuss the topics and processes with your friends and professors. This will enhance your knowledge about that topic and process.
- Do not fear during the test. Read the test paper carefully. Manage the time in such a manner so that you can attend the whole questions.
- Be confident while answering the questions. Do not overwrite the answers.
- After finishing the answer, revise it.
- Have a proper sleep and diet before exam.
- While attending the clinical test, do not take stress and stay calm.
- Practice the commonly asked clinical skills.
- Listen cautiously, what your examiner is asking you to do.
- Before beginning any clinical task, wash your hands.
- If you forget any step during the clinical skills test, let it know to your examiner. Humbly request the examiner to allow you to repeat the procedure.
